Rosie from the Jetson's would honk.....right before she fell all to pieces and killed the whole family. No jail time though. Programmer error and corp would have to pay in a civil suit.

    Wow...amusing thread. Here's my 2 cents.
I drive a flatbed for a mega that has all autos. I also train new students. In my opinion, it does take away that factor of shifting but saying that they will focus more on other things is a deception all in itself. Driving autos has made me lazy in ways. I say this because I have driven a 95 white gmc that a buddy owns. I smiled and had pride knowing that there was gears to be had. It added another level of self respect to the profession. I went through a school which had mid to late international eagles with 10 speeds so I have no restrictions on my licenses. Just as manual transmissions require discipline to shift, autos require accelerator discipline for non-jerking, bouncing, break your neck side swaying action. Megas, in my opinion, will convert to autos because there are not many young people out there that will to bust their butts for a dollar and yes, just to attract more students because it is much easier to just push the pedal. No pun intended! I do use the manual feature more so than the auto feature just because I want that sensation of shifting until I hit the hills. Our trucks will not rev over 1500 in the manual feature even go up hill. You can downshift on grades in the auto mode with jake blasting with out worry of missing the gear.

Neutrel comment at the most. Still want that weird piece of steel in the middle tho
