As some of you all already know, I have a class A, but was looking into finding a class B job. I found one at Ready Mix. I am suppose to go there at noon tomorrow.
Here's my question..... I am used to nine and ten speeds. What's the operating range on a cement mixer? It's probably going to be a little six speed right?
I'm sure they'll show me what to check for my pre and post trips, but what all do I check in addition to the usual?
I hear it's tough on your back etc. just driving a mixer..... how do I alleviate that?
Any other advice/tips I would greatly appreciate, because I KNOW I am heading into a completely different ball game tomorrow. I am also staying here at working at the motel for the next two weeks......Going to be a rough two weeks..... a LONG two weeks.
Cement trucks.........

Once you get used to multi tasking. You will be backing and swinging your shoot at the same time, plus controlling the discharge rate. A good driver will lay it even and they will not have to drag the concrete. I always worked my shoot back and forth and laid it out nice and level.
