Nope. The cop was killed at work. Sad?? Yes. Should the driver be held accountable? Of course. But the cop is not some hallowed saint whose life is more valuable than any other life.

"The tractor-trailer driver was not hurt. Investigators said that area of the road has three lanes, and it is unclear how the trailer ended up swerving onto the shoulder. It does not appear there were any other vehicles involved or obstructions in the road."
Lot of unknowns at this point. Very sad. But let's not rush to hang the driver; he'll be hung soon ehough as it is. -
I find it quite interesting how we suddenly turned to a world of Guilty until Proven Innocent... Not even gonna give the guy the benefit of Doubt that it was truly an accident. As a Firefighter I say if he is found to have been negligent then throw it at him.. But if it was truly an accident then I am very sorry for both parties... RIP brother
OldHasBeen and gokiddogo Thank this. -
I'd bet anything that made it not his fault, would of been released by now. He pushed him through an intersection, into a barrier, the truck ending up in a residential property. Speeding was most definitely a factor, regardless of what caused him to be on the shoulder.

Why do you say that? You know how long it takes a loaded truck to stop, It wasn't that big of an intersection. From what I saw even if he had hit the breaks before he hit the officer, he still would have pushed him across this "Intersection" I've seen it done with Fire trucks before, and if it took a Fire truck that long then I'm sure it will take the big truck longer.Last edited: Jul 17, 2014

It's still under investigation. I can NOT see this whole "throw 'em to the wolves" mentality on the web.....someone sees a bit of news and a few pics......by golly they have the answer.

It's possible there are extenuating circumstances, but most likely, not. I'm sure it will be released
-
Now, Please tell me how you know there's no excuse.
Do you know if there was a mechanical problem with this truck?
If not why blame the truck driver so quick, when you do not have ALL the INFORMATION?
Its very sad that truck drivers would place the blame of an accident on a fellow truck driver & not have ALL the INFORMATION, & its even sadder that some would thank you for such a statement.
With this type of truck drivers on the road today it makes me very happy that I'm an Old Has Been truck driver, I would not want to be on the road with you. -
Its MUCh too early to tell it will all come out sooner or later--the ONLY thing we really know now--from this report is the officer was killed--after being struck by a big truck--situation sucks--prayers to all involved
wore out Thanks this. -
I see most of the old timers arent so quick to judge, alot of the newer drivers are,not all.....
