Why would you say that. I been up and down that road and ran good up it and never been bothered once. Guy was out looking for cars not giving a rats ### about a truck. Chances are he probably never pulled a truck over and hassled them.

But Bill Graves, the ATA President, said on a radio program recently that JB Hunt and Schneider are shining examples of premier safety in the trucking industry..........

....and why is every cop runnin radar--a SPEED TRAP? considering traffic flow in most place is 10+mph over--if cop ONLY grabs those 15+over is that a speed trap?

My prayers go out to the officer and his family. Maybe the driver dozed off, jerked the wheel and over corrected? We won't know until the trial. Rest in peace Officer.
OldHasBeen and joseph1135 Thank this. -
My brother is a lousy truck driver, he has 3 accidents, no injuries and 2 tickets for running a scale in 4 yrs. The last company he worked for wouldnt even let him bring the truck to a terminal after his 3rd accident. They told him get his stuff out of the truck, give the key to the fuel desk and find his own way home. I paid for his bus ticket home and made it very clear to my kid brother he did not need to drive 18 wheelers ever agin! I leave home to hit the road, I was gone 3 weeks, (my choice). I come home and theres a JB Hunt truck parked in front of my house!! JB hired him immediately even tho during the driving test he hit a curb with the trailer tire, thats a immediate failure most places but JB hired him. Needless to say He doesnt stay at my house anymore for hometime. I called JB and talked to safety director about my bros driving history, he basically said until he screws up with JB he has a job, unfreaking believable!!! I'm going to try to talk to someone in the executive area of JB but I have a feeling nobody there cares.
Marksteven, joseph1135 and OldHasBeen Thank this. -
Allniter...its your brothers life. Let him do what he wants. Do him a favor and butt out. If I was your brother and you pulled that #### on me I'd kicked your ### to kingdom come

And something mechanical could have happen.
The 1st truck driver I ever knew drove a log truck, ran off a road up in the hill county on company timber land & went way down to the bottom, killing him. At 1st they said he was at fault. Yet when they finally examined the truck several weeks later because the family put pressure on them they found out there was a steering problem & no way to avoid what happned. It took pressure for the company to check out the truck thoroughly because it was a company truck being being driven on company property. Actually the company was trying to hide the truck because it would save them money much money.
Oh, if FatDaddy had been around & driving for the same company as Mr. Jacques he would have probably been spreading gossip & lies about this dead truck driver {Ollie C Jacques 1914 - 1951}, saying it was his fault.
Many people hear lots about truck wrecks, but its mostly gossip, hearsay, & really that is all you will get out of news articles & usually the gossip lovers will keep spreading the gossip about them.
And it sure does seem on here, a truckers forum, there's several that will condemn every truck driver that's in a wreck. I feel sure if they were on the other side they would not appreciate it the least bit, & who knows when they may find them self on the other side. -
A very good thing to do, it shows your thinking of all those innocent people driving up & down our highways hoping they will not lose their lives because of your brother.Marksteven and Joetro Thank this.

Thats exactly why I did that OHB, trying to save lives!joseph1135 and Marksteven Thank this.

Or so it seems.
I wonder if there's an explanation.
I hear complaints directed toward enforcement and now complaints directed toward no enforcement.
Question is, how much "enforcement" do we require?
How much enforcement should we require?
Reminds me of a saying,
Do The Right Thing
Even When Nobody Is Looking.
