I have a similar issue ..while driving down the road at times .very infrequently My voltage goes to 0.0 oil pressure/water temp/ tachometer and speedometer will go to zero .and instead of the mileage showing it says "no data" and its stops recording the miles. When it comes back it doesn't record the miles I had driven. But, it doesn't shut the truck off or anything .funny thing is ..it only does this when I turn my a/c off then I turn in back on and a few minutes later it returns to normal I hope they find out whats wrong with yours...

me to I have them guessing ecm but that's expensive guess

Has the wiring/fuse block (sorry don't know proper name) in the panel directly to the left of drivers seat in the wall been checked?
Common source of electrical issues and prone to corrosion. -
The ECM wouldn't cause your volt meter to read zero. The 04-07 Freightliners are notorious for electrical problems like this.
-
If they are notorious, there must be a common problem. Any idea what it is?
-
I had similar issue in the past, voltage droped from 14 to 0 and vice versa then the truck shutdown because ecm does not getting power. I had problem with wire harness by ecm on its right side, was corroded wires. Also could be corroded wires on battery terminals.
-
Broken wiring, wiring in the harness that is too tight and too short, it rubs, it chafes, it breaks, it shorts, it cracks, and it can burn. Your guess is as good as mine.
-
I agree with freightlinerman, check the harness. The ECM harness, the battery supply cables and battery ground to chassis.
