Yep its just a big open lot of dust, rocks & the smell of horse crap lingering strong in the air... Oh what fun we have.

Haven't been in the lounge to see any, I have better things to do then watch TV. I have a lot of learning to do.

No time tonight to give a update, wouldn't be much of one anyway. I will give a better update Saturday night.

They have the lot by the shop paved. Across the street is a big old dusty lot. It's quieter at night though. Only thing that sucks is trying to get in to pee in the middle of the night.

We'll be losing it soon enough. They already canned everyone but the shop, recruiting, and the school, and we have to be out either sometime this year or next so the stadium can have more parking.

Just have patience, it'll be totally gone in the next 2 years. No more 3 foot deep pot hole as you come in, or standing mud puddle before the doors of the building dispatch used to be in.

I read somewhere online that they hire in all 48 states? Just wondering I live in Oklahoma and I'm interested in Central....what are their major freight lanes?

Dallas terminal is no longer as for schooling and going inside the building for now it is just a fuel stop.

John and I are sitting in the Dallas Terminal now and it has a shop and fuel, when we arrived we did see some students who I think were training there. A best Western bus picked them all up around 4.00pm, there are still training trucks here.
Any who we have been out for almost 4 weeks and I have seen 21 states, got some great Pictures, seen some absolutely awful bathrooms and some that looked and smelled clean, eaten some fairly ordinary meals and some were pretty good. I like the trucking part, but hate the sitting and waiting at shippers and receivers.
Today at La porte near Houston I got to see a couple of Werner Drivers try to back into there Dock, one took almost an hr and the other guy owner op took ages cussing a blue streak at anyone who dared to glance over and watch:biggrin_25526: Two Lumpers from inside came out to direct him in and he even cussed them out I dunno maybe he was having a crappy day or something.
I did notice the road kill between Dallas and Houston was that cute lil Armadillo, and I really wanted to get a picture but John refused to get outta the truck and make one look alive.
I now find that I can drink truck stop Coffee if I add a lot of milk and water lol, and even almost enjoy it. We got a Burton 12 volt coffee maker for the truck but it takes like 2hrs to make a pot, we also got a Cobra Micro port which does a great job of recharging my laptop Battery, we haven't been posting much because we have been to busy driving and sleeping, I feel guilty if I head of for a nap when Johns Driving so I try keep the same sleeping hrs as him (#### that man needs to sleep more) We are headed back to Salt Lake city now with a load of Beer, and into the Terminal to have the truck castrated back to 62mph.

We have been working on brake pressure testing & pre-trip for the last two days, we also did a little backing & street driving today. Double clutching is really not as easy as it sounds. My up shifting isn't too bad, but my down shifting needs a lot of work. Turns went fine (I never came anywhere close to hitting anything), but I need to pay more attention to my surroundings.

All in all they said I did fine for somebody out on their first trip around the block...

We will be back at it Monday morning.

I have been doing well lately staying away from terminals.
I get all my work done at other shops on the road, and my route does not get me within 650 miles of a terminal. My dispatcher says as long as I keep my average speed down they are not going to mess with my truck. Since 500 miles out of my 1100 mile dedicated run are in 55 states, that will not be an issue. Though I need my Ohio toll card. Paying the 20 bucks each time is a pain. Though with easy pass working in indiana now, it is just spending the 20 that I use to spend there, and I get it back the following week.
I dont go thru there much anyway, only when one of my loads is gone. They may knock me back at the end of June though, I am going on vacation and flying out of Atlanta for the cheaper ticket, so I will be at a terminal there.

On the dallas thing, that is not for additional parking. The statium there is getting torn down. They will be making allot of new buildings in that area.
The new statium is out of the city limits.

Thought of you all yesterday (Sunday). I had to drive past the drop yard in Henderson, Colorado. Stopped in just to see what was happening. Didn't find any of you out there, but I did find a bonus-- an old Dick Simon mud flap. I grabbed it out of the dumpster to add to my collection of memorabilia from the old days.

Keep up the good work, and please keep us posted on how things are going for you.
