Pictures when you're done, please. Some of the guys have never done a rig move. Should be educational.

Becca started to ask me about doing one, but I'm guessing not that one since I was already in ND. I ended up not doing whatever she was thinking of.

    Story time:

We did a move a few years back from somewheres in Texas to Haines City,FL...about 20 trucks, 2 heavyhaul. Most of the loads were. A bunch of our guys and a few Mercers. Pulled into the scale in Hammond, and one of the guys was heavy on the drives by 1200 lbs. The ScaleMaster told him that since he didn't have any adjustment, that he would have to write a ticket. I asked the ScaleMaster that if I could get his weights correct would he let him slide. The ScaleMaster agreed. The driver asked me what was I going to do, and I had him close the spread axle. He weighed again, and the ScaleMaster gave him the green light. The driver asked me what happened, and I told him that if you close the spread, it will transfer @2500lbs from the drives to the tandem (better make sure you have the room to move it though.)

We stopped for the night at that TA in Marianna,FL, ate supper, and watched a Wiener truck decimate a truck, when the driver came through the parking lot and forgot about her trailer.

Next morning we took off. I'm up front. Hit the coup, rolled down my window. A little old lady ScaleMaster comes out, and I say a greeting. The rest of the OD loads come rolling behind. One of them stayed out on the bigroad. She same him and pointed at him, and he tooted his horn. She grabbed her cell and made a call. 5miles up the road, we saw 4 full growns had this driver hemmed in, one with a ticket book, one with the permits, one with the green and white bible. "But my PREPASS blinked green!"

I got my own rig moves to do. next week and after..
One of my buddies will be there to ld. Be nice to Brei.
She's a good lady, this is her first rig move guys.. Even though I am not withh Sammons any more, I wish her the best
PAck your breakfast and lunch, maybe even supper.
Please listen to the trk. pusher, no matter who they are.. They can and have the power to kick you off a rig move.

I even know her parents, she will not take any B.S. either.

Like I said before. listen to the trk. pusher. Check in with them and listen on the radio for when they call you or your cell phone. Any questions about your ld. ask the pusher and they will help you.

Nd. there is not a whole lot of parking and spotty cell service..
    Good luck...

    TripleSix Thanks this.

Carl gave a helpful post. Rig moves can actually pay decent money, but you have to be patient. It's a whole slew of trucks coming in and working with a rigging crew. Gotta be patient, can't stress that enough. The thing that's interesting is how everything comes apart, how it's loaded and shipped, how everything's secured. It's a big deal.

On rig moves and crane moves, there will be certain loads that take priority. If they pull another truck around you, keep your teeth together and shut up. They will get to you.

    Puppage and passingthru69 Thank this.

Yea and DO NOT have your wife call the trk. pusher at 4am asking if her hubby got lded or not.
    True it happened...
Then she called the trk. pusher the next night like at 9 pm asking and then demanding that her hubby get lded..
Guess what, he got sent home mty. no truck ordered not used pay, no detention time either..

We loaded a rig in Texas once, loaded the mats first thing and shipped them out on 4 flatbeds then went to loading rig. The entire rig was stacked on location before those 4 trucks finally made their way to location. I suppose what I'm saying is if you get a load that is needed to start the rig up, and your told they need it first don't dick around getting it there. If you do you'll have a pissed off rig up crew when you show up.

I remember hauling some last loads of water out of some fraction sites during a move in WV, on top of a hill that was nasty....what a hectic place that was!
