I dont like the idea of paying for truck parking . Paying an outrageous amount of money for cheap items and other essential things at a TS should be revenue enough for them. Personally it is a first come first serve basis and has been for as long as Truck Stops have been around. No real reason to change it. Cant find a parking spot at 5pm.
Stop earlier and no issues then after your ten your good to go for that 5 pm stop down the road again. If the dispatch cant see the rescheduling issue he or she shouldn't be doing that job. Since they go to bed in their home every night with no issues they don't see ours.
You can't park here!

I agree but some places are even more demanding now. And from what I understand it's not the truckstops that's going to charge it's private parking areas that they are going to create for high demand areas.

My empty truck + trailer weighs around 32,300. That's less than 10 average cars. More than a dozen just for a bobtail... LOL!!!!

This was me as a new yard goat driver. I would pull out with the trailer still locked to the dock. It bent the. DOT bumper to holy hell. First week on the job. My coworker said don't worry about it. He got in my truck and slammed that trailer back in the dock. When he pulled out the trailer looked perfectly normaL

yeah that was as bad as it got. The dot bumper was mutilated to a point
sticking 3 feet out behind the trailer and the doors wouldn't close on the trailer until my coworker whacked it into place again

I got tired of reading a bunch of bickering, and didn't read all this. But I'll tell you this:
A truck with 40 psi in the tires puts the same pressure on the pavement as a car with 40 psi in the tires. The reason trucks put more stress on pavement is the higher tire pressures we run.
Tire footprint is roughly determined by dividing weight by psi, leaving you square inches as the result. A bigger tire doesn't necessarily change the size of the tire footprint, but the shape. Psi drives footprint size, higher psi = smaller footprint and greater load per square inch of pavement.
