Was that a company driver or O/O? If you don't mind driving illegal, then yes you can make over $80k a year, otherwise $60k.... just remember there will be those times you sit and wait around up to two weeks waiting for a load, and if you want to make over $40k you're pretty much working or on standby 14 hour a day, 7 days a week, and you'll never start at the same time of the day or the night. If you're making over $85 in the oil field or anywhere as a company driver, 12 hours per shifts, driving completely safe and legal, have a steady schedule, guaranteed pay, 50% 401k match on 7% of your gross, and over 45 to 60 hours off per week ....... get me hired, PLEASE... I beg of you...... i'll give you my 8th and 16th paycheck, my 6th and 12 month paycheck, and $3500 on my third anniversary !!!!!

Lol I know this is an old Thead by good god. I made 3700 gross my first 6 days hauling sand. You're obviously doing something wrong. And it doesnot matter the area specifically. I haul all over Texas and nm. With drivers or o/o from all over. You are working the same leases that I am essentially. I make over four in a day for sure. You just gotta work for it.
trucker91 Thanks this. -
You are an o/o, correct invictus2014?
-
That's garbage. To a company driver at 25% on $3700 gross he gets $925 for 6 days. LOL! When I started we were making that every 2 days. Sand is over unless you are in some particularly sweet deals.
Then throw in all the free detention/storage/ etc that everyone is giving away and you can a lot more elsewhere. Until economy picks up for real and all these out of state trucks go away sand is dead. -
No man I'm part owner of the truck. We get 80% of the tickets. I get 25% for driving off that 80. And that number the first week was 3700.. I haven't had a "drivers check" less than two grand after taxes in the few months of operating. Then I have my 40% of the profits after deductions that's mine as well. My partner put all the cash up and I got the work and drive. Sweet deal. Sand ain't dead bro. Def. Not.

Yeah.. lol!
-
And free demurage? No sir. I get 85 an hour after 2 hours until I'm offloaded and on my way for another.
-
Excuse mine ignorance if i havent read any previous posts, but where are you hauling sand from and to which oil fields?
-
Is it true that in Texas there are 225 major oil field companies,Nort Dakota 150, but in Colorado there are only 25? (i think the numbers are of those who hire CDL holders, cause it seems too high for only sand haulers.... or maybe those numbers are for drillers...; either way, i think it'd be interesting to know)
