Random LTL Rants (all are welcomed)

They should really do something about the archaic OT laws for drivers. Local hourly wage drivers or dock workers are no different than any other punchclock employees who the federal government mandates OT after 40 for.

 

Oh I earned plenty of OT with my LTL. Not that I ever got paid for it, but I sure earned it. That was really the biggest gripe I had with that company, however, it was made clear right from the interview that they did not pay overtime. It was my decision to go ahead and take the job.

Maybe it has to do with a huge truck lobby?

 

HELLLLLLLLO Don, how the heck are ya.....I would rather speak to you over here (Or P.M.) instead of the diner, i peek in there now an than but will not be posting there. Gotta call back a Manager for A.B.F. latter on this evening, after updating my app. as he requested on Thursday, he told me to, so did and found out he left early cause he "s gonna be covering for someone so gotta call back at 7pm tonight...Fingers crossed...

 

Did you hear, or see about that Calli. thing in regards to O.T. pay and breaks, from what i got out of it, sounds good, think it was on this Forum (T.T.R. News) that i read about it. If it is as good as it sounds than maybe they set a precedent for the rest of the country. Dam Fed"s, Ya think they would change an ancient, archaic, bull law.

 

Joe the trucking lobby is too strong. It's one of the things that makes the HOS so darn questionable, in my book. If the trucking lobby was really totally against HOS, they have enough power and money to make it go away. (IMHO)

 

As huge as that lobby is, would"t it be nice if all us "Professional Product Relocation Engineer"s" ( That"s what i want to be called, you all welcome to do so to ) Union and Non would band together.....Talk about HUGE...... The thing's we could change in a heartbeat with just a threat or even a week"s pay lost. Would be Scary. Would be Epic....

 

What"s HOS...? Are you talking about hours of serv., and lobby being the F.M.C.S.A.? I think i read your mess. wrong.

Well, I was one sick puppy for some time, with heart problems. Still not where I should be, but I'm doing pretty good. Sorry to concern anyone.
