Hi to you guys and gal truckers.
I am not a truck driver but just a boring 4 wheeler.
In July my wife and I are going to move to Missouri from South Jersey.
We will take the ferry across the Deleware Bay and go to Maryland where we will get on route 50 to Missouri.
With all your experience how is route 50 to travel?
I back you all for striking ( if ya call it that).
I thank you all for what you do moving America.
Thanks
GOD BLESS
Rt 50

Unless you are just interested in taking the scenic route, there is a better way than that.
What I would suggest: NJ-55n, NJ-42n, I-76w, I-70w.
If you do choose 50 it ain't too bad through here. Just don't try crossing the bay bridge during the rush hour. And when you get to I-95, you'd be better to go around Washington, preferably to the south, and pick up 50 again on the VA side. Don't try that during the rush hour either. -
Rt 50 from the Va. state line to Grafton W Va is 2 lane, narrow, steep hills, and very curvy, a lot of 20 mph turns. I ran it in a truck once, and I won't do it again if I'm given a choice. Its a nice scenic drive in a 4 wheeler, but don't expect to average more than 35-40 mph for that 80 miles.

Like Johnny stated, route 50 is 2 lane curvy mountain road from VA, and stays that way into bridgeport, wv. From bridgeport to Parkersburg, WV, its 4 lane 65 mph. from there it flattens out pretty decent crossing into ohio.

There are low clearances in D.C. on 50,Great scenic route right by Washington Memorial, ect.
Another option running 50 west in the buckeye when 32 and 50 run together after Athens and when you get to Jackson split, continue on 32, for smooth new 4 lane, instead of old 50 to Cincinnati.
Happy Trails ! -
If you're set on taking the Cape May/Lewis ferry, I would take 50 across the Bay Bridge, then hop on 97 north at Annapolis, then 695 to 70 west.
