I started with Estess on the 1st of July. I have over 27 years of experience in trucking and have driven OTR, Regional and Local during my career. I was always leery of LTL due to the ups and downs of the business. I applied but did not hear from them until I was in orientation with Holland Enterprises. My terminal manger told me he would wait until I was home to interview me and to not worry. When I returned home I interviewed, and went back on the road while background and drug tests cleared. On my next run through town he called and wanted me to take my drive test, I was able to squeeze it in and passed. I gave my company a one week notice and burned it for North Dakota to return the truck.
My first week of training was riding with the senior line driver for 4 days to understand paperwork, policies etc. The following Tuesday I started in line haul as an extra board driver. The first week I had over 1900 miles plus numerous drops and hooks. We are paid to pre/post trip, fuel, delay, chain, and break down as well. The starting mileage her in Fresno, CA is .495/mile and any line haul duties pays $10.00/hr. If asked to do P&D we make over $20.00/hr
I have no complaints at all, both weeks were over $1050.00 and only worked 5 days. I will try to keep a daily or weekly update
for any LTL fans out there.:mcool:

Actually, Estes has two S' s. (But I understand what you meant).

Good deal man. Welcome to linehaul. Heard good things about The Big E. You'll make great money and be able to enjoy it. Build that seniority!
