Roofs not to high it directs air over trailer. Other wise the air would hit a wall causing drag. Guess yiu could get a nose cone for the trailer if you want a flat top.

The new T 880 looks nice front end, but no reg sleepers on it yet .. the w9 requires now a "gassler" tax .. I have no clue what ir means

I saw it, only the passenger's seat swivels, and so does the work station and screen brackets. Nice add ons.

The mid roof is only available in 52"

This bizz has become all about savings and we need to stract the decimals/miles out of fuel and components now

10 is just an arbitrary number, really. Why not 9.5? Why not 11? I'm sure coasting downhill you're doing way better than 10 mpg.
The secret is fuel management and resistance management. The former mostly being in control of your right foot, the latter, equipment.
Of course your goal will have to include those Frisbees inside your wheels and trailer skirts for the flatbed.
    Good luck.

I'm shooting for the stars to land on the moon driver, I ask of 10 in the virtual world which I know my foot and patience can pull an 8 mpg out in the real world

My best attempt was over 8 mpg just to see how good I could do. Back in the '00s so hard to remember zackly but I think 8.14 from Laredo to Texarkana, FLD, mech. CAT, empty flat, kept boost under 5 psi, running @ 50-55 mph.
That's extreme. Too much effort monitoring gauges constantly. Other extreme I can get down in the 5s running ballz 2 the wall.

I'm happy running about 62 and getting mid 6 to low 7 mpg. Not afraid to show 'em some black smoke and tail lights or hustle on a delivery when need be. This job has enough headaches without being so anal/OCD about everything.

Somebody mentioned Western Stars not getting good mileage. I run a 4900ex, I've been as high as 8.75. Bobtailing, that is lol. My lifetime average is 5.8 running the Poconos at 80k.

To start, I would pick a model and spec it out your way. You know where you'll be running, so do not let a salesman push you into spec'ing something that you will not benefit from. In regards to getting high mpg's, I'm a firm believer in Microblue and would at least consult them about doing the rear and transmission. I would speak to member Dice1 about the improvements he got from doing it but remember hes running a 98 Volvo 770 with out EGR, DPF, SCR technology.
