Starting CDL school and researching possible companies to go with. I guess you'd say my requirements are; good equipment, training and plenty of miles. I will have no issue being out but when I do get home time I'd like to have a terminal relatively course. Not sure how it all works and sorry if this is a dumb question...Any company suggestions or suggestions period. Thanks..

You don't need a terminal near your home; home time is based on company policy, not where terminals are located.

Tyson Foods-you're just outside the hiring area, but apply anyway.

There's a few to research & start submitting applications the first day of CDL school classes. Ignore any "experience required" on the websites and apply anyway; truckin companies are hurting for drivers and bending their own hiring rules. Best wishes and be safe!smc215 Thanks this. -
Thank you for the information..

Don't they run teams? I didn't list it because he didn't mention he wants to run teams. They do have an excellent reputation. There's some excellent team companies in North Carolina.
Submit lot's of applications then sift through the job offers & be ready to go to work as soon as you graduate.smc215 Thanks this. -
don't think Cargo Trans is team only.
a terminal close to home is a must for me.
where do I park the truck on days off??
I live in the burbs. illegal. -
Cargo Transporters is not a team company, though they have some teams. Excellent equipment, great training. They have a yard in Rocky Mount.
Cargo and Epes have the best reputations for trucking companies in NC. Apply to both. -
Guy down the street from me has his son park his rig on the street in front of his house about every 3 weeks for about 4 days.

OP : Cheeseman in Charlotte has an apprentice program for CDL grads. Hometime is weekly or daily. Dress nice and go visit their office. Any company you're interested in that has a terminal close by; drop in and do an application.
