so i kinda have a question here im not trying to hide anything from a potential employer iv sent in for my hirerite records but i don't really have the time to sit and wait for the info to come in to see what my first job in driving had to say about me when i left them.

what i did is pull my MVR record still squeaky clean. so here is my question, When i first got of the truck and into my own these are the things that happened to me when everything wasnt going so smoothly.

I got a ticket my first ever in Illinois for i missed my turn so i took the next right which happen to be a weight restricted route so i tried as hard as i could to get back on the interstate before getting caught unfortunately one block before the interstate i got caught dude was real cool with me i guess he wrote it as a parking ticket pled guilty and mailed the fine to them all is good not showing on my MVR

second issue tried to make a sharp right turn couldnt make it got the tandems stuck in a ditch just outside of a construction site no damage no cops had a wrecker come out get me out and the company was cool with it just payed half the wrecker cost on it no points given to me for the issue and made delivery on time....

last issue was i pulled onto a tight scale at a shipper but knew i couldn't get all the way on for my trailer was going to make it in with me so i tried to back off it and a cement piller cought my passenger step and pushed into the plastic a little causing damage company was still ok with this guess because i was a rookie and assuming it happens a lot? i dont know but they only gave me 1 little point for it no big deal.

so that being said i don't want to be one of the people leaving orientation short because of this kind of info either with holding it as a "lier" or what ever reason they could have...
like i said my MVR is clear no cops ever involved on any of this....

so my question is this... on my applications when it asks

Have you had any moving violations or traffic convictions in the past 3Years?
do i say yes? even tho my MVR says No?

Were you involved in any accidents/incidents with any vehicle in the last 3 years (even if not at fault)?
and on this do i say yes i was dumb and couldnt make a turn or pull off a scale right?

please any comments will help just looking for guidance. Thanks

Those mishaps you had,did your company say they would leave it off your record since you paid half ?If not then yes put it on the application. If your mvr is clean I wouldn't worry about putting that ticket you was issued on the app.

hey, thanks for the quick reply but to be honest nothing about my "record" or "DAC report" or anything was ever mentioned about anything that had ever happened the only thing was i got a letter in the mail at home saying they were going to give me one point out of the 15 it took to get fired from there which was nothing to me because i was all ready at -2 for taking a safty class so i was still -1 points with them which was good

If its not on ur mvr and there isnt a police report then i would think u could answer "no" on those questions. Maybe someone with expierience similar to this will chime in. Good luck and stay safe

I would say "no" to the moving violations if it was just a parking ticket. If it wasn't moving and that was the ticket, then that's a true answer. If they ask, you can explain it. But it better really be a non-moving violation.

I would say "yes" to the accident. They'll ask, you tell them, no big deal. If you say "no" and they find out that you did have one, you're fired.

having an accident or ticket doesn't get you not hired. But lying, no matter how stupid the thing is, is usually immediate termination. Esp in today's spying world, you never know what information is out there. Better to be up front about it IMHO

Always answer the question(s) honestly. Nothing worse then hearing this line...."Hey why didn't you tell us about.....?"

Those points mean nothing to anyone except that company. When an application asks about accidents ..write "No DOT-recordable accidents."

Agreed. OP, check your PSP so that the overweight ticket written as a parking ticket did not show up on your record.

    https://www.psp.fmcsa.dot.gov/psp/oa/AppInfo.aspx

It is easier to say "Yes" to a minor item you were involved in that may not even be on your employment record, but in case it is, you are covered. These days most carriers are more concerned with DOT recordable accidents.
