My husband has been with the same company for 11 years. He averages about $57,000 a year. He has talked to PMTG and is scheduled for training. He is happy with his company but it sounds like there is more money to be made at PMTG. Is there more money there and is the economy having any effect on the car-hauling industry? He is a hard worker who is generally on the road from 4 to 6 weeks at a time. Any info would be greatly appreciated. He has been wanting to talk to some drivers, but now that he is really looking he never seems to see any.

Sorry I just found your post. I am a PMTG driver running the northeast region. I am very happy here. This is the best job that I have found yet. I have been there for 19 months and last year made $90,000! Your husband will be a road driver and living in Minnesota I would suggest the 3 and 3 schedule. That is 3 weeks out and 3 days home. This will be the best way to make money on the road and the best chance for dispatch to get him home when he is scheduled to. As long as he has patience with the equipment and the adjustment to hauling cars, you guys should be just fine. Any questions just let me know.

Rainman1971,
Are you still with PMTG? How are things going now? -
I have been over here 19 months now. I make great money, don't run too hard. I have a good truck to run. I'm definitely happy I made the move to work here.

My dh is also a PMTG driver. I know the money is out there to be made....rainman is proof of that. Dh has had issues with his equipment...that seems to be his biggest burden that bars him from making what he should be. One day we're hoping to get him into something more reliable where he can make the money, because he really does like the company.
