If your truck looks fairly new You can always buy a used DPF do a little magic on it before installing it and keep on trucking ;)

Thanks Double yellow. There you have it, if you have not already retrofitted a DPF on your truck, you are not going to be CARB compliant. If someone already did, then refer to the chart.

I guess I'd mount a used one on there and then someday when you got the chance you could plumb it up. Tongue in cheek.

I bet they are rolling all around the office floor reading about the people worried about it. Have yet to hear anyone getting stopped.
THis country has much bigger problems it should face.

Some professor out in Calif. got let go because he showed where the CARB was pushed through with "made up results" and he is suing them for losing his job over it and for calling them out. It is very true and I read it but cannot remember where.

Now calif told me they would grandfather in all old trucks as freight was not getting hauled because a 75 dollar container run will not even begin to pay for a used tire letalone a new truck.

Be careful spending a lot of money to put a DPF system on your truck. might only give you a year or two to be able to run in Calif.

Might be better to buy a newer more fuel efficient truck. If you modify your truck Calif will want certificates from the approved shop plus your truck vin. that added the DEF system and you can only used approved parts.. Just adding a DPF system from anyone or any shop might not work,.
Calif CARB has cancelled some modifcations after the fact because they found out they did not meet CARB rules.

Go to calif carb website and do your research,

Yes, they approved only handful of companies that can install DPF. Thus 18k price tag. I spoke to CARB again this morning, only option right now is to show financial struggle. They want 2 years of bank statement and loan denial letter. Yeah, Im buying a newer truck.
