Quick snapshot of the first settlement. Paid to me $409 dollars. Considering I intentionally over fueled to buy cheap fuel that's not to bad. Had I waited and bought more expensive fuel the next day that would have been an additional $457 in the settlement. Taking into account the truck spent 2 full days and part of one in the shop I'd call it a win for the first week. Next week would have been great do to me over fueling on this settlement except for my oops with the air lines. Still I'm $150 ahead between the two so we'll see. I'll post some more detailed numbers later.

So do you take into consideration the fuel taxes when you fuel? i.e. if fuel in jersy is 3.50 and fuel in Pa is 3.75 it's better to fuel in Pa because of the tax refund you will receive on your ifta .34 vs .18 These are just example numbers because I have been retired for about 5 years and am not current. Also make them file your road taxes (ifta) as a single truck so you don't get stuck with everybodys mistake

You'd have better odds if you considered skinny chicks, fat men, skinny men, the elderly...

I do take into consideration fuel taxes but I balance it with trying to keep my weekly revenue up. For instance, If i get to go by the love's in Tihachapi where fuel is 3.939 a gal I fill up because it's a decent price and it's got a high fuel tax as well. But I skip the 4.069 places to get to Nevada to get 50 gals at 3.939 to get me to slc where I can get it at 3.789 a gal.
We are talking about Knight here. Despite reassurances that they do you as a single truck based on your numbers I'm pretty sure they will screw it up. So I'm going to assume the 3cpm per mile and any fuel tax paid has gone bye bye. Then if I get a refund at the end of the quarter I'll be pleasantly surprised.average joe and AfterShock Thank this. -
The o/o dept their is lot to be desired...they act like you have nerve asking information and there is one certain individual there that shouldn't be an "advisor" since he clearly has shown he knows nothing.

There is another reason you don't want to buy recaps from Knight, Knight is now buying tires with thinner tread than before, so you are getting less for about the same price. The reason? "They are cheaper!" Yeah, they are buying caps with 19/32 instead of the larger size.

Correct. When he tried to explain my contract to me I had to tell him what several sections meant.AfterShock Thanks this.

You do know what you get when you buy tires with deeper tread depth?
Answer: Worse fuel mileage. Taller tread flexes more and increases rolling resistance.AfterShock Thanks this. -
That is true. Traction is the enemy of fuel mileage. Still, do you want to pay for a set of half worn out recaps from the factory? That and you really aren't going to be taking quite as big of a hit in the mileage as you think.

Last 2 fill ups. 6.69 mpg(two full 10 hour breaks of idling in 100 degree heat included) and then a 8.27(with 4 hours of idling included). This brought the mpg's up to an average of 7.03 since I've gotten the truck.
