47TH ST WAS OPEN ON THE WEEKEND, TEUSDAY AT 17.00 IT WAS CLOSED. So I turned right at cal.,just before 13.0 viaduct turn right 48th st I think. It does a L and comes back out to 47th,turn left on 47th by jb,s terminal turn left on to Lawndale I think it was called follow to 51st st which is past world,s finest chocolate, I delivered there years ago. At 51st turn left follow to western ave turn right to get to 59th csx. or landers. I used to start at 18.00 or so and run nights, 63rd st Englewood area the lead is flying 23.00 to 05.00. FYI wed. morning am780 was talking about the DOT will be working a 15 state sting, logbooks, etc SPEED CAMERAS in construction zones,I,m sure the speed cameras will be setup in Chicago land, due to the 6 people killed last Monday on I-55.
Ebola Guy and Nightwind8830 Thank this. -
I think it is safe to say 47th is closed until the work is done. It appears they open it as they see fit, like the weekends. But you're better off assuming it's closed. Yesterday I was bobtailing on 47th and they had it closed at Western. So moseyed up to Pershing (39th) and hung a left there to Archer. FYI, you CANNOT make a left onto Pershing from Western north with a trailer. It's tight enough in a bobtail.
Regarding the crackdown in Chicago, my company said this on the Qualcomm this morning:
" *IMPORTANT* There is a crack down on the truck drivers this weekend on the I90/94 corridor in Chicago. They are focusing on speed, distracted driving, and logs. Make sure you are compliant in every way possible. Don't give officers an excuse to pull you over. If you are inspected please act professional. Safety needs to be your priority!"
So, yeah, watch yourselves.Lepton1, Nightwind8830 and Pmracing Thank this. -
