Has any one had the double evap upgrade on their rigmaster yet? Does it cool any better? My road assist guy has been pretty persistent to get ppl in to the shop to have it done! And if your wondering I asked if their would be any costs for lease ops he said no! I'll be getting mine done around the 6th of next month I'll come back to post whether it helped or was a waste of time

Never even heard of this upgrade

OK, This may take a few minutes, Picked up my truck first week of april, Had a rig crapper and I thought GREAT no tri pac, Well, my fears turned out true. For the next month I spent more time idleing than APU running, Finally after the 3rd trip to SPRIMO when the guy who installs APU'S says, "I have installed over 800 units and I ain't never heard that noise" the boss said take it over to east side and put a new unit on, Presto, 5 hours later I had a brand new Rig Master with the new CATERPILLAR engine and the dual fan cooling box under the bunk. I have to say, it is still louder than the tri pac but when I went to south texas my truck stayed cool even on the top bunk, I have to add oil every 5th or 6th day, but other than that, I am happy with it. I do not know if they will upgrade the fan box to a dual without changing everything, you need to check with the apu shop. Hope this helpsnofreetime Thanks this.

yeah the double fanbox and extra evap unit is what they told me they will put on I'll still have my original unit I believe. But hey I can hope they will change it too lol

Thanks for posting this. My rigmaster just doesnt keep it cool like the tri pac did i hope this is a solution. Does anyone know if i can get this done at chdslc, i try not to go to sprimo?

The cat engine is exactly the same as the orange Perkins engine. Just a different color.

I'd love it a lot more if those POS rig blasters were actually quieter than a reefer on continuous full-blast.

I got the dual fan box upgrade done and I am impressed it now keeps the entire truck cool at outside temps in the mid 80s and I'm sure it can do more I just need to go. South to really test it out but it was easily keeping the truck 69 with no curtains on the windshield full sun shining in at 87 degrees
