Not just child support. There will be a kid running around without a fulltime daddy. Until the next guy who moves in. Who now is an authority figure over your kid.

I am on my way over now.

Just a matter of time before this post.

Take her with you. Or put a ring on her finger. That is her biggest issue. She probably thinks she has put 7 years in and now she is going to lose you probably. If you really love her either sacrifice for her or go local if she don't want to ride with you.
-
She's seen Smokey and the bandit. She knows what it's like out here. Lot lizard's and those truck stop waitresses. You are just trying to be a better provider and if she can't understand that, then I don't know.
-
Get her to sign in to this board. Somewhere on here there's a forum for wives, etc. Also, the more she understands about how trucking is,, the better she might feel. If you're home on weekends, that's better than a lot of wives have it. Nevertheless, it will be an adjustment period until the money starts coming in, and until she gets used to it. Get Skype for your phone/computer so you can talk to her every day/night. That'll help, too.

I am a woman... and what I can say is your girlfriend has issues and needs to grow up...
It is natural for her to miss you and for you to miss her.. but for her to carry on to the point it is detrimental to you and the relationship is immature and selfish...
I am sure if you take some time to look over the last 7 years you will see where her selfishness and immaturity has been displayed....
Now, I am sure you have not been and are not perfect.... and, being on the road can strengthen one in ways never imagined... when you are alone with yourself in a truck and spend the majority of the day alone with yourself you discover a lot about yourself...
Your girlfriend will either grow up and meet the challenge so your relationship will work or she wont... but I agree with what the others have said... if you get out of trucking for her it will only muddy the waters...AppalachianTrucker, Lepton1 and Big Don Thank this. -
Don't drag it out for six months and make you both miserable and have hard feelings. Its time for one of you to get in or out on both ends if you know what I mean.
