True. In case your primary cell phone dies or the Qualcomm dies. Makes you wonder how drivers managed all those years before cell phones came about.

It was not a lot of fun looking for a payphone , standing in line and praying you had enough change and if not that whoever you were calling would accept a COLLECT CALL
Spring Chicken Thanks this. -
Let's all stop and take a minute to say thanks for cell phones and GPS systems lol. Technology has seen to it we no longer have to rely on our wits and improvise during roadside emergencies, nor do we have to read a road atlas like our predecessors did lol. And yes I'm just being sarcastic and giving a hard time. On a more serious note, I bet it was a pain in the butt as an otr driver before cell phones existed.Spring Chicken Thanks this.

Omg...you guys bringing back memories... I remember I would go to a bank of pay phones in the dead of winter and dial in to my dispatcher on every pay phone, head back to my truck warm up and come back 10min later and all phones still ringing..lol.. No entertainment in the truck but the cb and the radio, had to sit in the drivers lounge with 30 other dudes smelling butt watching the Terminator, if I wanted to watch a movie..Man did it suck back then...you drivers now have it so good!

we should have those days again, maybe it would solve an additude problem this industry has. its so easy to avoid people anymore
I have a question, did y'all have to change the terrestrial radio stations every 20-30 minuites? I have done it before and it sucks -
Haha....yea yea....then to top it off I had to put my paints on both legs at a time....let me know if you get that joke...if so,your a old timer for sure
Spring Chicken Thanks this. -
If you had seen some of the drivers I've seen out here...you'd be thanking god for how easy it is to avoid people.
