Parked Here for the Night

TA in Effingham. That's 2 days in a row being able to start my day with Dunkin. It's the little things that make me happy.

Only have 300 miles to finish trip and offload 0300 Tuesday morning then dh to KC for next pickup

 

Them there "belly bombs" R gonna kill ya to death!

 

Bored and sitting here at some rest area in IL , about 40 miles east of sapp bros.

So i'll just sit here and kill some data on the phone and probably the battery to

 

This is a heckuva way to start the week. 84200 gross good thing they allow 85 coming off farm.

 

No silly question sir.... I thought about those choices... But I walked there this morning and saw the place... It has a small lot and lots of trailers... not much available room for a truck and trailer to stay there too long...
So I considered a few things... not sure they would allow me to stay there for one hr or two if they were ready to unload me... if they can unload me early, they might want me out of there right after that and I might have to come back to this small Pilot, That would most likely show driving in this freaking Peoplenet elog... Which might give me some headache, cause I would have to show unload and pretrip before driving... But we, drivers in this co. can't edit any line.... Any editing must be done by person in my co. who is VERY strict about editing...
And then I might have to park at the Walmart nearby cause I might not find a spot at this Pilot early in the morning...

So... after all these considerations and calculations... I chose to stay at Pilot tonight and call receiver at 7 am... if they are OK unloading me early, I will start my clock and hopefully they will not take more than one hr... by that time my dsp will be in the office and will let me know where to go next...

And I will definitely not make this stupid mistake again....

Staged at the TA Strafford MO. Can't park overnight at receiver and receiver won't take me today. 0300 appt in the morning and they won't let me in till 0230 so no sense going over early. Going to Sealy TX from here which means dinner with my daughters Wed night.

 

Delivered at the caves in KC this morning, and still find it scary as all hell. I'm dead heading up to Omaha, and stopped to grab a break here at the Sapps across the Mizzou from Nebraska City.
