We recently moved to Florida from the North East and are looking for any recommendations for a new Company to drive for. Not that we are unhappy with our currant employer, it's just that getting home is proving to be difficult. We did not move away from the snow and cold to be home only 7 or 8 time a year. We are not O/O's and are comfortable being Company Drivers. 10 plus and 2 years experience...Looking for a respectable well run Organization that has Regular Loads into and out of Florida.
    Any advice or recommendations appreciated.....

    Chinatown Thanks this.

Daveymac, we are a reefer team at Covenant and we've got 2 sets of friends that live in Florida. They run in the engineered division here running Amazon and other hot freight all east of Mississippi mainly. I know one of the teams goes home about every other week. The other team stays out like us for about 6 weeks. If you've got your hazmat I'm sure you could get in the door in that division. I see messages on the Qualcomm looking for haz teams to join that group. Good luck!

Have you guys thought about purchasing your own truck and leasing on to a carrier? Living in Florida doesnt necessarily mean you need to hire on with a local carrier. I live in Florida and I'm leased on to a carrier based in Il. I get home anytime I want. As a professional team I would think you guys have a little more weight during the negotiation stage then say a solo like me.

They say we have to pay for the weather in order to live in Florida. I was tired of paying for it and decided to make a change.

    Just a thought.
