It's something like DISH tv, they say they'll give you $100 to bring a friend on board, what they don't say is it comes in $10 increments over a 10 month span VIA a statement credit monthly. Sign on bonus is given in increments and is taxed.

Ask your recruiter how they pay it. One company I worked for offered a $3,000 sign on bonus paid out in increments of $1,000 every 25,000 miles until it was paid. The money is usually added to your check and is taxable. You don't typically have to pay it back if you quit, however you do forfeit collecting the unpaid portion of the bonus if you quit before it's all paid.
