If by long term, do you mean a place to park while you go home? It's been a better part of a year since I was that way, but I recall a gravel lot where a lot of drivers park their trucks and cars legally. It's at the SE corner of Elmhurst Rd and I-90.

There's parking off of 294 in Alsip right next to the Volvo dealership... That's not far from Des Plaines... We used to park in Elk Grove Village off of Busse and I cant remeber the cross street I will look it up later in the day for you.... I know off of 55 down near the Bolingbrook truck stop there's truck parking ( not at the actual truck stop ) I don't have the #'s for these places but see them all the time when driving around the area... I'm sure some other driver's from the area will chime in soon...

Another option if you just need to park the bobtail is those storage places where you can store RVs and boats. I used one of those places when I used to live in Lake County. It was $60/month about 5 yrs ago.

There is a place in elk grove, on oakton just west of busse. I don't have any info on it, I just know that it is right by a place called Nevarr lawnmower repair. I'm not sure if they own the lot, but it is right behind it. Never been back there, but I drive by everyday on the way home

That lot is gone. Or at least all the trucks are. I think the state is doing something with it in connection with the I90 rebuild.

But for reference, he wanted like $250 a month for a full rig, and had a 240 truck waiting list.

Elk grove village has many small lots south of Oakton. Not many were secured.

Also for reference, I park just the cab at a Public Storage near downtown Arlington Hts and the cost is up to $116, from $85 three years ago. Cook county now has a parking space tax. I think it is a percentage of the cost.

Good luck, and let me know if you find something good. I would love to be able to bring an empty trailer home when I need to. If the spot was about the same price.

Lots of places in Elk Grove Village - I think Elk Grove Truck repair rents space out, but beyond that there's a couple of independent lots around. One on Higgins right at Landmeier.

Yes, that lot off Elmhurst @ 90 is now gone. Not sure what they're planning for the space, but they've been grading it this week.

The closed lot area at 90 and Elmhurst road is going to be excavated for use as a retention basin for water run off from the highway and new ramps...also the new ramps when completed will encroach on part of that property

As far as I know, the Des Plaines Oasis will not be rebuilt as they decided cost factor would not warrant it....
