1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I recently graduated from Georgia Driving Academy, 30 Aug 2014, as the Honor Grad.....if that means anything. Received my CDL with Tanker endorsement on 1 Aug 2014. Working on HAZMAT and TWIC. My MVR is clean. No felonies. I'm on HBP meds and its under control and I'm not overweight. Army decided I have sleep apnea so I have a CPAP. I'm a recently Retired Army Vet(20yrs) and don't have mental issues like some might think of Vets. I have driving experience from my Army days (tactical 5 ton and below, tractor trailers (1yr), bus driver and HAZMAT). I do have orientation dates for 2 companies(Swift & PTL) within the next couple of weeks and I've received pre hire letters from 9 companies, but I'm undecided and still trying to look for more options. I've applied and called about 4-6 additional companies that I've read great things about (Prime, Averitt, Old Dominion, Millis, CTL) and hopefully I'll hear from any of them on Monday. I have done a ton of research on companies and that's why I haven't accepted some offers and still undecided about the 2 I have orientation dates with. My goal is to eventually do local tanker/hazmat. So, I need the experience OTR/reg. Any one needs a driver, I'm ready. Any suggestions are welcome. I'm ready for my 2nd career to begin!!!

Have you checked out Schneider? I retired from the Army in 2012 after 23 years and use a CPAP... How hard was it getting cleared with your CPAP for the DOT medical? Actually getting ready to get a new machine from the VA so i don't have to pay for replacement parts anymore and could have them type something up in case the school needed it or the DOT doctor is why i'm asking.

Yes I checked them out. It wasn't hard at all getting cleared for the DOT med. She just asked me some questions and that was it... plus I'm in pretty good shape so that kind of helped. Yes have them type something up... better have it n not need it than needing it n not having it.

    TexasBobcat Thanks this.
