The increase in fuel economy is sometimes the result of an increase in deadhead miles.
-
yeah sometimes....but my overall mileage increased 1.5 mpg since I bought my conny over the step deck I used to pull.

You cannot leave them open. 1) When they open, the "extra" cross members go up, pushing the height to over 13'6". Higher than that and you need a permit and have to know all the overheads on your planned route. 2) When open, they would probably flap in the breeze and tear themselves apart. OOPS!! Money to repair or replace.

The ones that are made to run open have removable bows and the tarp gets folded inside so it is not flapping. I would say it is still probably not great for the tarp.SHC Thanks this.

I love running my tarpstop system. Not messin with tarps in the cold and snow make it all worthwhile.
fireba11, rockyroad74 and SHC Thank this. -
It is great to have. Only 2 drawbacks...load has to fit in it and a hell of a wind sail when empty.

What are the best brands to buy? What are the cost differences between brands for a 48' flatbed system? Warranties? Number of service locations and wait times?
I've been saying it will not payoff to get one. But, when you tarp everyday, you have to input the cost in wear and tear to your body. Especially your back. Look at how often a back sprain slows us down and the wear and tear in general over the years. I think it's worth the money for a rolling tarp system after considering what the healthcare cartels cost us!
Other factors are very bad weather where I choose to sit it out and not load a tarp load. With a rolling tarp, I would most likely still want to get out of bed and go make some money. Also, multi-stop loads that require a tarp. I always turn these down. Who wants to tarp and untarp then retarp over 7 stops and they only want to pay the tarp fee like you tarp and untarp one time? Oh yeah, TIME. Look at how much time is spent screwing around with those #### tarps!
I'm leaning towards the tarpstop fast trac system right now. Anyone object?Foxcover Thanks this.
