What Is Felony Domestic Violence?
A domestic violence felony is a crime where one family or household member commits a serious act of violence against another resident of the household. Domestic violence laws are applicable to broad range of relationships, not just between spouses. Felony Domestic Violence is one of many serious crimes classed as felonies. Felony domestic violence may occur between persons who are dating, between parents and children, same-sex partners, and other residents of the same household.
Domestic violence felony charges are typically filed as a result of assault and battery between spouses. However, they may also involve other types of crimes such as rape, sexual assaults, or kidnapping.
Aggravating factors may convert a misdemeanor charge into a felony, such as when simple assault becomes aggravated assault. A domestic violence incident is generally classified as a felony if it involves the following aggravating factors:
Acts of violence that result in death or serious bodily injury to the victim
Criminal acts directed towards minors, especially very young children
Violent acts or threats that involve the use of a deadly weapon (for example, threatening the victim with a knife or gun with the intent to intimidate them)
Criminal acts that involve forced sexual abuse, such as rape or sexual assault
Hazmat disqualified ?

Not knowing the exact details of your domestic violence felony, but it likely falls into the "other" category of a serious crime not listed.

TSA may also determine that an applicant is not eligible if the security threat assessment process reveals extensive foreign or domestic criminal convictions, a conviction for a serious crime not listed in Part A or B below (including some lesser included offenses of serious crimes; e.g. Murder/Voluntary Manslaughter), or a period of foreign or domestic imprisonment that exceeds 365 consecutive days.
You can either appeal or wait until the 7 years have passed since the conviction of the felony and reapply. I would think that the felony on your record would hurt you more just finding a trucking job rather than whether or not you have a hazmat endorsement, since there are many carriers who do not require it. -
Yeah, having a felony just eliminated 98% of all trucking jobs. The rest are the western expresses and carolina cargos of the industry, and then OO's.
I would just get ANY trucking job if i were him and be grateful. I have seen this more and more. Folks with felonies and all kinds of undesirable baggage being demanding and picky. The logic escapes me.joseph1135 and TomOfTx Thank this. -
I don't think he's being demanding or picky. He's asking a simple question. Now, if you want to talk about the felony itself, that's another discussion.

Ah yes, the self righteous type who has done no wrong. Love people like that. I have a felony, and I have a job. There is way more than 98% jobs open out here. Just make sure you don't work for one of these types.Rob2isking Thanks this.

The type of felony is a factor too. Yes, I will be the self righteous type, if that is how you see it, because I have no criminal history. How about you listing some great trucking jobs where a felony is not a deal breaker? I also own a business as well and I do not hire any felons EVER.joseph1135 Thanks this.

I have misdemeanors, and have done plenty wrong in my life. It has also seriously limited my options and forced me to settle for a second chance company. And i understand that and accept that reality because those were action I took. The tsa didnt do the things that i did. Trucking companies didnt do it. I DID, and so I must experience the consequences.double yellow Thanks this.

There has to be proof to be charged with FELONY domestic violence. Seeing your attitude doesn't disprove this one bit.ramblingman, TomOfTx, double yellow and 1 other person Thank this.
