Ullage is the unfilled space in a container this area is where the vapor hose attachs to the container

So for a new tanker driver like me bout to get into driving tankers for the first time any tips I need to know
-
Drive slower than normal on curves and turns, easy on and off the throttle, steady brake pressure no stabbing the brakes. You want to be as smooth as possible on any action you do ( steering, braking, accelerating, turning etc.) you want the liquid to stay as calm as possible because once it starts moving it gets angry and will take it out on you.Cuban_P, White_Knuckle_Newbie, cowboy_tech and 1 other person Thank this.

Wow that's good info thank u driver any tips on winter driving do I apply that to winter driving and how do I prevent me rolling over if it attempts to how do I correct
-
Apply it to winter driving. In fact double if not triple your following distance and don't ever try to speed. If you have to make a regency braking all that liquid will slam the front of that trailer and push you ahead no matter how hard you try.
You want to minimize any situation that might put you in a emergency situation.Cuban_P, briarhopper and Shotta1981 Thank this. -

I do love driving tankers. It's a challenge. Plus I've found its a lot more respectful than any other area like dry van, reefer etc.
