18 Year old looking to become a freight broker

    It's always lovely calling on a load and being interrupted by two screaming kids, three barking dogs, and a useless husband barreling through the "office" while the broker can't even find the load that was posted under 20 minutes ago.

    while I agree with you@rollin cool. I for one do not plan to sit on my arse (not saying that you think that of me) and think i will make 150k a year. brokering is just like sales. a broker needs to make contacts and keep up with contacts.

    as with any job, it is what you make it. if you only want to take on 5 loads a week and make about 40k then fine, but if you want to make 150k then get out there and hussle

    or it could be just as bad calling the office about a load and have the person sitting there not really paying attention as they text on the phone or are playing on FB. Seems to that a broker working from home has a bit more incentive to work harder, since they are self employed and all --- just sayin.

    that coin has 2 sides - and it seems to me that if a woman has to put up with all that crap going on at home - i bet she'd be glad to go to the office everyday to work, i know i would. but then again, i have better control over my household and what happens in it
