I went to the DDS last week for my driving test. I passed the pre-trip/air brakes test, but I did not pass the skills portion, and was not allowed to attempt the road test. I have an appointment next month to retake the skills and road test. Will I be expected to do another pretrip/air brakes inspections, or just the skills/road test? Again, this is for the Georgia test. Thank you

Depends on the state , most don't require another test , usually you get a." Certificate" for each test you pass , then when you have all the certificates you want/ need you take them to DMv and convert them to appropriate license type that you want/ need , really the worst they can do is make you retake it .

I dont know the answer to your question but I have one. What is the skills test part you did not pass?
Here in CT we take a written test (general knowledge and if you want to drive air brakes that endorsement. If you want trailer you then take combination test) to get your permit. The permit then lets you drive with a licensed driver of that type truck to learn the truck. You also practice the drop & hook, brake test & per-trip. When you are ready for the state test (skill test here) you have to do the drop & hook, brake test & per-trip. If you pass all that you then go for your road test. So our skills test is a 2 part test , yard test & road test.
Sorry for hi jack just would like to know.

Skills test here is just backing. There is the straight back, offset back (left or right), parallel park (left or right), and/or alley dock (90 degrees, to the left). I got through the straight and offset, but when I performed the alley dock, I backed up too far. If I had passed that part of the test, I would have continued to the road test. GA doesn't have a drop and hook test, just pre-trip/airbrakes, skills (backing), and road test. This doesn't include the written tests for the learners permit.

Thanks,
It sound like we have the skills test but here we call anything hands on with the truck skills.
I should have added to the "yard test" the backing test that I think is straight back and/or off set/alley. School has told us here in CT we do not have to do the parallel park, we do learn it in school, but people in N.Y. (we are close to the N.Y. line that we have people in class from there) don't do the drop & hook but have to do the parallel park.
As for passing some and failing 1 part of it I am sure here in CT you have to take the whole skills test over not just the part you failed but will ask at school tomorrow. I have never failed a driving shills test be it car, motor cycle or my class B I have had for 30+ years, I am going for my class A and why school.
Good luck on your retest

Here in my state, it is all included as one road/skills test. You fail one, the tester you have next has to make you do it all over again.
-
Edit..You failed the backing test?
You will repeat that, then you get the road test.
Usually the same route on road testing.Follow the examiner. -
I'd just call and ask. Here in VA once you pass the pre-trip you don't have to do it again if you fail the skills/road test.

Thanks everyone for the answers, I'll probably just call and find out.I was hoping someone in GA had gone through the same thing as me.
