UPS driver really pissed me off today

    I'm sitting in a yard unstrapped and next to be unloaded when a UPS driver pulls his rig right next to me to so the forklift can't get to me, open his doors and waits. He tells the guy who was going to unload me that once he has opened the back he can't move the truck until he has been unloaded. The guy finally took care of him just to get things moving again, if this hadn't been a new customer for us he and I would have had a good old fashioned discussion.

    Many of those UPS drivers are arrogant. They back stab each other just as much as any others.

    When I was responsible for shipping at a company about 13 years ago I made the mistake of selecting UPS Supply Chain Solutions as our vendor, for bringing ocean or air freight from overseas and getting shipments to our customers. After many aggravating situations that ultimately cost us one longstanding customer and put us in hot water with some others I came up with a more appropriate motto for UPS:

    What Brown can do TO you.

    One time I wanted to send a small gift from TN to friends in CA. UPS wanted $175.00 and when I questioned them about it they said, " we don't really care about the private individual, we are just interested in the business accounts." I didn't make this up, it really happened.

    How come you didn't say something to the UPS driver himself when he pulled next to you... Like you need to move I'm being unloaded...

    Like I said it was a new customer for our company and I had been told not to make any waves. Once the forklift driver gave in it didn't seem worth it to cause any drama.
