Big Rig Carrying Produce Overturns On Highway 99

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Big problems on a Sacramento freeway this morning as a big rig overturns spilling thousands of pounds of produce all over the roadway and shutting down a major interchange.

CHP says the big rig overturned on the connector ramp from northbound Highway 99 to westbound Highway 50 at about 3:30 this morning.

The truck was carrying 78,000 pounds of produce when it flipped.

Crews have uprighted the big rig which broke apart and debris is still littering the roadway.

The driver of the truck says two cars were racing and one cut him off forcing him to slam on his brakes. He and his passenger were not hurt.

Crews are now cleaning up the boxes of lettuce and other produce that are scattered on the roadway.http://cbs13.com/local/big.rig.overturned.2.713083.html

I think the reporter got a couple of facts wrong, the truck weighed 78,000 when fully loaded. Folks from Sacramento just drive that way, they thought the truck would delay them so they cut the driver (of the truck) of so he could not get back in front of them.
