    TTR knows all!

We have a shipper that, by the weight on the bills (pallet weight not shown), claims chep pallets weigh 120 pounds!

I can haul 45K in a refr trailer legal. Even hauled 45.5 when it was loaded correctly. But this place has 42.5 weighing in at 79.5!

    Never trust anyone but yourself!

There is a provision in the regs for being overweight where there are no commercial scales between/near the load point and a state scale, but I can't find it in the fresh abortion that is the new FMCSA impersonation of a website.

As a newbie, you're going to have a few weeks like that. As a "professional" truck driver you're likely to encounter loads you can't tote with full tanks, and you should make it a habit arrive to pick up loads with less than full tanks, to increase your flexibility for YOUR benefit.

Imagine you get to a load of unknown weight with ~full tanks and find you're over gross by 50 (or 6 or 700) pounds. Now, you're stuck, with few options, none pleasant. If you make a habit of arriving with ~half tanks you will have performed your due diligence and can reasonably complain the load is too heavy.

I've realize that otr regional is not my thing. Maybe too emotional I don't have the ability to deal with sni trying to throw overweight loads on my then threatened my dac to scare me into compliance.

I am now day cab 18.50 a hour. God bless you guy you are tougher than me I will do 60 hours a week stay around Virginia taking care of my daughter which I know plays a big part in my decision.

So thank you guys for your helpful info.

Well glad it worked out for you although I think there is much more of to this story since you could have scaled this load despite you saying you couldn't.

I am a person that doesn't like disrespect I don't disrespect anyone. I don't put it on my dbl it was support staff apparently. I've learned to not listen to fellow truckers but when you're getting texts on my ten hour break from people telling you the same thing happened to them and they don't know of my situation it plays a big part.

But there is a bigger part to this story we thought my one year old was in remission for cancer she not.... so I will stay local to take care of her.

Hi Nirvana, that last line always punches me in the gut. I can't think of anything more heart wrenching than a child with cancer. A person that drank whiskey and smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a day for 45 years,is one thing, but a child, just doesn't make a lick of sense. I'm not a religious man, quite frankly, you can pray your fool head off, and nothing will change, however, be glad we live in an age where there are success stories, and your child has a better chance now than ever. I wish you the best of luck.

That's 20 years of experience for ya.

The OP didn't even say it was overweight. His complaint read: "I have a pre assignment that is a heavy heavy load sealed already it says in the remarks section do not pick up with a full tank of fuel which I have to scale it I have to run by two dot scales before I can get to the pilot. I shared my concerns with my dbl he said don't worry about it."

"Don't worry about it" could mean the dbl knows the load ain't that heavy, or it could mean there's a scale on-site (or an Ag scale nearby the shipper will direct him to) and if showing up with less than full tanks is a stretch of your truck driving skill and you can't get legal we have a "driver" in the area and a load of bubble wrap going 300 miles with 3 days to get it there that will be ready ~1 hour before we have to pay this guy detention.
