i fell out of my chair laughing. seriously however, i have noticed the ear buds in is the new trend for that type driver. I have also noticed, more than a few, male drivers that use a suitcase on wheels to carry their shower essentials to and fro the truck.several of those had the ear buds attire going on.my backpack and i almost felt antiquated as i walked past giving plenty of distance.
the other new trend is the orange and lime green driving gloves always in a less than the posted speed limit truck which is more often than not in the middle lane.
i should not be so observant as i pass them on the left(or the right) but curiosity always gets the best of me and i just have to look over at what i am passing especially since they are always causing a back up. -
Employment gaps are not your problem, and aren't stopping you from being hired. What is your problem is 3 accidents and criminal convictions.Tonythetruckerdude Thanks this.

Well I am not like that and that was a typing error. Or spellchecker error. Is this a stylistic complaint or something based on reasoning for that stereotype being unsuccessfull anyway? Guys seriously dump the homeboy thing I couldn't stop or notice it with this phone. I edited it now. If you are really hung up on that and can't help me then I don't know what to say or how to take what you are saying.

That's what I was thinking. Swift still approved me with their school when I explained myself in a letter. Even if the accidents weren't my fault and people hit me does it really hurt me that bad with insurances?

You should be able to get a driving job fairly easy. Just keep applying until some company gives you a chance. Your record doesnt seem as bad as some of the other drivers out there. I was wondering why you would go into trucking if you have a BA degree?? If I were you, I would go into the corporate world and sit in an air conditioned office and collect the same 50k without all the hassles that come with driving a truck.
Tonythetruckerdude and "semi" retired Thank this. -
trucking is just not all that any longer. you, being a beginner, will be told how to drive, where to drive, where to fuel, where to park(inquire of those that are mandated to elogs),and you will be driving a truck that will not even run the posted speed limit in 75% of the states.
ready to not have any of that freedom that "drivers" have? then by all means go with it. best of luck fellow forum member. -
I am doing that as a teacher now. 35-37,000 but I want more to help pay these loans off faster. At least do trucking for a little while, like 6 or 7 years.

I am in it for more money in the long run. Not worried about the freedom as I have none right now either in this job.

no need for the paranoia. i was merely laughing at that particular forum member's post. he was spot on regarding the middle lane driving/traffic impeder. please just do not use a rolling suitcase to traverse the parking lot obtaining a shower if you go trucking and you'll be fine. it just looks odd. most truck drivers are odd but the rolling suitcase epitomizes odd. no driving gloves either especially since, odds are, you'll be driving a slow truck.
oddly enough,i apologize for my post being misconstrued.
