Only thing I understand is that if you do non per diem, you have to itemize on your tax returns at the end of the year. Maybe non per dime doesn't get taxed? Not sure. Google should help though.

I'm in the Sept 15 class and currently leaning toward non per diem practical miles.
-
What is HHg vs practical route?
-
Practical miles: The miles on the most practical route (what most co now pay)
Hub : All miles driven even if you get lost miss turn lap around truckstop.
HHG: hosehold movers guide, zip code to zip code , usually 10% or more less miles than practical -
Practial- roads normal people take. Major highways etc.
Hhg- fastest way no matter what road.
If that makes sense.
