Crete Carrier - A Year In Review - Fall 2013 Going Forward

I'm probably about to jinx myself, but I have to say that most of the time my experience with weekend dispatch has been pretty good. Often better than during the week. They came thru again today and although I have no idea who's on the other end of the Qcomm, I'm grateful.

 

same here, it's the holiday weekend and i picked up a garbage load today.. 400 miles over three days BUT I asked if I can t-call it and they followed through and sent me to a drop yard.

 

I'll try my hand with weekend folks tomorrow. Did a two-stop WM load with a stop at Lincoln for three tires on a trailer...one half-bald, one had a slow leak, and one was a steer tire.

Just under 2k last week, not starting til Tuesday...back-to-back days of 600 and 608 miles...sitting at the J in Sioux Falls, SD til the morning....no load yet, so wezel see what transpires....

 

I'm supposed to be an OTR Shaffer driver but somehow I always end up in Pennsylvania every other day, strange how that works out.
Man I'd love to see SD

 

My last trip out (30 days), I saw nothing but MI, IL, IN, OH, and PA, with the exception of one trip to WI and one to MI. Believe me, I feel your pain.

 

I guess it's time for another one of these...

well at least it wasn't winter time....

last winter i saw more truck accidents on I80/I90 than anywhere else, it wasn't even close.
Then again I never went any further west of Wisconsin and any further south of Tennessee. That was with my previous company though.

 

Just try a friendly message "You know I'm OTR, right?" That works sometimes.

 

Just got my next load....picks up here in Sioux Falls and delivers to......flippin' Michigan. Which means another trip to Stanwood bound for WI or OH. But, it is 730 miles, and delivers Monday, so they continue to keep me busy.

But I'm bored outta my mind.

I got a load from Wi to UT, it was preloaded on the 27th, I pick it up this afternoon (Sat)
It's a tracked time sensitive load, has to deliver by noon on Monday. I drove 10 and a half hours today, I have 1310 more miles to go. Not gonna happen.

They knew it before I accepted it, I turned it down once.
now they want to repower it tommorow? It'll take a team or 2 repowers to get it there .

 

No casino for me....no spare change right now, what with daughter just getting married, repairs on the house, kids, grandkids....and possibly buying a truck early next year....not risking a dime....
