I have been with schneider 4 months now, currently looking for another job. If u try to make money u need another company cause schneider sucks. They start u with .26 cent per mile (if u didnt have experience before like me), u spend hours looking for trailers that are nowhere to be found, u get 2 loads -one 180 miles another one 350 and both are live load one is accepted appt time only...and unload over 3 hours so u figure out how u can squeeze that into one day to make more then 350 a day. HA! We are working on trailer avaibility...things will get better... u wont spend so much time looking for trailers anymore....heard that one soooo many times. Nothing changed. U will spend sometimes days looking for trailers with this company.
Then one day they decide to give u 1500 mile load and ur so happy u run it in two days, then ur thinking man give me another one like this and my check might be something... but not with schneider...then u get that 92 mile live appt unload and spend 4 hours looking for trailer... ur day is up. U end up with 440 dollars that week too! It wont get better are u all blind??? Schneider always talks about bonus..In order to get it .. u cant idle ur truck. With no heater in the truck u can choose to idle and not freeze or ofcourse u can sleep in the winter jacket , 6 pair of socks and 3 pants to receive ur bonus. Good luck! They keep telling me how I'm doing great and how happy they are with me but how much does that help my paycheck. Not at all!
Out of 40 people that were in my class ,not one has said they were happy with this company. About 75% said they were quitting. Die pumpkin, die!

    PETERBUILT12345 Thanks this.

JUST TO ADD TO MY POST... I MADE MYSELF 100% AVAILABLE TO SCHNEIDER AND I DIDNT ASK TO GO HOME FOR ANY HOLIDAY. I WANT TO WORK AND MAKE MONEY! I DONT THINK U CAN DO THAT IF U WANT TO GO HOME ALL THE TIME. THEREFORE I WOULD STAY AT LEAST ONE MONTH OUT AND NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING HOME. I LOVE DRIVING BUT GOOD DRIVERS WITH LOTS OF POTENTIAL GET DISSCOURAGED BY BS GREEDY COMPANIES LIKE SCHNEIDER.

I did this when I worked for Wenger. They can and do change it. This is something you'll have to trust me on. Either that my memory sux. As a baby boomer this too is possible but not very likely.

You expected maybe .42 a mile and 3000 miles a week to start?

In 1989 I quit driving and went to computer repair school. I took $27,000 worth of student loans to pay for it all. 6 months later, I had my deploma and was a happy camper. The best job I was offered was as a system maintenance tech @$6.00 an hour. I would have had to drive from San Bernardino to Anahiem to my new job. This was the entry level position that everybody was offered.

I got back in the truck.

Entry level is just that. Your going to make a substandard wage and take a boat load of crap.
The guy who taught me how to drive paid me $200 a week to unload and load his trailer (household). I was 16. This was allot of money for a kid of 16 years old. I took physical as well as verbal abuse for 2 years but in the end got my Chaufers (sp?) at the age of 18. Then I ran local in Nebraska delivering insulation for a year at .10 cents per mile.

In 1980, I got myself a real trucking job with CR. England. This is back when they ran the cab over Macks. The company sucked and so did the trucks but hey, I was making $.14 cents a mile and had a hot girlfriend with me so all was good. England still owes me over $1000, and the hot girlfriend is long gone.

I've since trained drivers for 7 years and mostly that has gone well with a few exceptions. 1 assaulted me got got his butt beat, but that is a funny story to be told elsewhere.

Just stick with it, learn from your experience and do your homework. I don't know if Pumkin is worth squat or not. I don't like slow orange trucks.
You'll have to decide for yourself.

:x Maybe the real problem with you two is you BOTH need TO LEARN HOW SPELL! Duke & hatesschneider.Learn how to spell! :x Maybe then your STL will understand what your trying to say! It's a two way street.Learn to work as a team player,Try to look at it from his /her point of view.CALMLY.
It will work out better in the long run.

You should be making .27 per mile but that's beside the point. I work for Schneider and am quite happy. The miles are there if you learn to work the system. I know of a team operation that are consistantly turning 8000 per week. I think the issue here are the complainers themselves. You guys need to look inward and accept blame. Instead you take the easy way out and blame everyone else. There are always some like you two complainers in every company. Please do turn in your resignations and make Schneider a better place for the rest of us.
