Have you considered calling Landstar and asking them? I would think that any of their orientation centers could help you.

Yes I did,but they wouldn't go any further unless they knew definitely my truck would be able to take it.
So I'm at a standstill,I mite just have to look around for a different carrier that lease ops with no EOBD -
Your Detroit is not a mechanical motor. Its a electronic they will have no problem hooking up to it
double yellow Thanks this. -
What i was told it had to be an electrical engine. No Mechanical motors, I was about to get an 94 Pete with an 3406B & Landstar wasn't going to accept it.
-
Mechanical I was referring to it being older than the regular 10 years stipulation most companys want you have a newer truck. Not mechanical in the sense of old old truck
-
Correct when I told her what year 95, she automatically assumed it,but when I went looked at my truck I see the electrical component looks like a computer Or whatever it is called
sitting onside of the motor on driver side .I'm assuming thats where they plug into somewhere dealing with that.
Like I said I never had to deal with this EOBR crap -
Check around with some other carriers. Most don't require EOBR's. It is still not required by the feds. Some are still fighting the legislation. CRST Malone no longer requires owner operators to have a EOBR, if you want to pull flats. And as far as I know, they still don't have age restrictions on trucks that they accept. Some carriers have gotten away from requiring owner operators to install an EOBR. When a carrier starts requiring a EOBR and tracking your every movement, you should be classified as an employee rather than an independent contractor. The reason some carriers require EOBR's for owner operators is to get ahead of any legislation that may eventually become law. According to a friend of mine who works for OOIDA, some carriers are actually taking the EOBR's out of their trucks. There are some good carriers around that don't currently require an EOBR. You could always get your own authority and then it would be a non issue. You can still haul for Landstar if you have your authority. But, you won't need to put up with the BS. Most all of the major carriers have brokerage departments, such as Mercer, Schneider, JB Hunt, etc.,

man oh man, if its got an ecm you have an electronic engine, a mechanical engine has no ecm. heres a genius idea, why not get your serial number, call an international dealer , and then ask is your truck an electronic or mechanical equipped engine.
honestly if the simple task of figuring this out has thrown you for a loop, you have a tough road ahead of you -
that will work until the mandate takes effect, its inevitable, may take a bit , but it will happen. then even one truck o/o will have to have installed.
but there are eld that aren't bank breakers . jj keller has one that plugs into ecm port and works with a smartphone or tablet, less than 300 bucks -
