I saw the other day that the truckers protested by the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. I applaud them for their committment and determination. That said, I'm not all that confident that Congress or the President will act in a timely fashion to address the critical needs of U.S. truckers. As such, I believe a BETTER approach is to confront the SOURCE of the problem directly, and that is our U.S. oil companies. They have hit you in the pocketbook, and I think it's time for you to return the favor. My suggestion is to blockade their corporate headquarters. Park your vehicles in such a way as to block access to their parking lots. They'll get the message real quick. I would also advise using the minimum number of vehicles to do this. In the event, a trucker would get arrested or ticketed, then other truckers could then fill in. One should also refrain from violence. Below I will list the major oil company headquarters addresses.
God bless you and of course, DRIVE SAFE. ;)

Was thinking that some operators might not want to use their trucks. In that case, dumping materials to block entrances could suffice---rocks, sand, manure. You get the idea. Make a statement! ;)

Why be disruptive and draw negative attention? You want to know the REAL reason the price of gas/diesel is so high in the US? Because we import almost 60% of what we consume. Oil rich countries, by contrast, are paying about a quarter of what we pay for the same product. The reason: They export their surplus. Saudia Arabia as an example, produces about 10,000,000 barrels per day, but only consumes about 20% of what they produce.

It's the Golden Rule: He with the gold rules.

So we as a country need to figure out how to find a balance between what we produce and what we consume. By the way, we export none.

Remember many years back when there was a big hooplah over paper bags and how this was bad for the environment? So we now have plastic bags, which are a petroleum based product, and we all know they are NOT environmentally friendly. Paper is a renewable resource. If you look around at the many, many products available for sale in this country, how much of the packaging alone is petroleum based?

    So how about this:
    1. Write to your representatives demanding they focus on reducing manufacturing of non-essential petroleum based materials/packaging?
    2. Only ask for paper bags (or bring your own!) when shopping. TELL the manager you do no support them supplying plastic bags and why.
    3. Do your part to reduce the need for gas/diesel consumption.

Got a boat? Don't run it.
Walk or bicycle when you can.
    Carpool.
Make sure your vehicles are tuned regularly to maximize performance. Don't idle!!!
EVERY purchase you make should take into consideration the economic efficiency it provides. If it doesn't, don't buy it.

I would also go one step further when writing my congressman. i would mention that we need to quit bowing at the altar of environmental extremism and start drilling and refining our own oil while researching alternate forms of energy. With the technology available today it can be drilled and extracted without spilling any more than would be spilled changing the oil in your own vehicle.
