Your recruter should have sent you a list of what you need to bring to orientation. Just pack everything on that list. If you didnt get a list from him give him a call and he will email it to you.

Well, if you know how long you are going to be there, than pack clothes for that amount of time. Two outfits per day for a week is a good way. You can always do laundry, so make sure you pack some laundry soap and dryer sheets just in case they don't provide it. Your going to be in Columbia SC during the warm months, so make sure you don't pack alot of heavy stuff.....SC Heat is not your Friend man, trust me, I was down there in May one year and as soon as I walked outside the humidity hit me and I was soaked within 5 minutes. And stay away from the greyhound station....it's a scum magnet.

Yeah, I spent some quality time in SC back in '75. You know, there was a connection to TMC even back then.:biggrin_255:

Just remember during your load securement class you are required to have Long pant and lace up work boots. You should wear work boots the whole time you are in load securement and doing yard maneuvers. I did my orientation in DesMoines so I dont know what they have for facilities in SC but Im sure they have Laundry facilities so take your soap and dryer sheets. When out with a trainer it depends on how close you live to your trainer. they try and get you a trainer within 150 miles of your house so that you can drive to meet up with him and go home on the weekends if he is on line haul. If he is on long haul you may stay out the whole 5 weeks. It all depends on where your trainer lives and what runs he is on.

Do work boots need to be steel toe? Do they provide hard hats or should you bring one?

Sabre, I dont know how long you have been with TMC but I applied with them online last night and saw they will do some reimbursements for tuition with other companies if you have at least three months OTR....can you elaborate? Thanks!

I would suggest calling recruiting. I know I don't know all the details of tuition reimbursement and I am still being reimbursed at $125.00 per month for the full total of tuition.
