Driving a truck with suspended license?

Years ago I had a company ask me to pick up a driver and his dog at a hotel and take him to a hotel closer to the shop his truck was taken to for repairs. When we got to the hotel he asked me to watch the dog while he checked in and opened his bag that was between the seats to get a notebook and there was a 6 pack of 24 oz Buds. While he was inside I called safety livid because he had not given me the courtesy of telling me what he had so I could decide the risk I was taken. I likely would have been nice enough to place it in the sidebox for the short trip. Safety had me take pictures of it and informed me that the driver would be terminated as soon as I departed and they were not going to be paying for the hotel room the driver was checking into. Alcohol and trucks don't mix.

 

when i got my bogus dui. it was during xmas week. at the first of the new year. i told the company and they basically didn't put me to work. they hired another driver instead. i didn't have my license but i was allowed to drive 30 more days before my 90 suspension started. my lawyer did however manage for me to get back my license before the 30 day timeframe. and the state reimbursed me all my fees for towing the car. at the end of 90 days was the court date. to which the charge was dropped on the day of. i went to court and never even walked into the room and in front of a judge. also got my job back. to which i worked for 6 more years till the economy tanked.

as for the innocent guy. he should have never allowed the alcohol on the truck. i beleive they talk about alcohol in school. so he should have known that was a big no no.
