Thinking of buying the BASF model at Amazon for use in my car. Anybody know if it will also work on a transit bus?
Tried Googleing but evidently they never heard of such a thing.
I work for a small shuttle bus company as a driver, we don't have a mechanic shop so hoping I can get lucky here on the forums!

If you are running 1 ton chassis on the bus, the Torque and dongle (WiFi/BT) should work,
Check under the hood for MFG plate "OBDII compliant"
I have used them on F450 and F550, diesels...

if it's a gasoline engine. manufactured after 96. i don't see why not.
i'm not familiar with diesels but i would think they're a different breed. kind of like semis.
i purchased the yungtek bluetooth. and am trying out a few different apps. with some slight differences they basically all work the same. be nice if i could find some actual diagnostic software and what not. that actually works like obd1 did. for gm and chrslyers. they had the sweetest setups for obd1. everyone else was a PITA.
a few years ago. i purchased a ELM 327 for the laptop.
the problem your going to have. is that it's really basic software. it's more handy as a code reader and to be able to reset the computer. the few other thing that it can do is basic monitors. like rpms, temp, and what not.
touchscan is the closest thing when it comes to diagnostic. but unless you know what your reading. it probably won't do much for the average user. there IS some diagnostic but i'm trying to find out aabout it. there's an additional fee and it runs on your laptop. for the diagnostic setup. they do have a phone app that does the basic like their pc version. but that's the app i'd recommend the most. it does more then everything i have tried.
any bluetooth connection will do the job. with any app you can download to your phone. get yourself a bluetooth dongle for laptop and you can even try some pc programs.
like i said, though. just don't expect much. unless your willing to shell out some benjamins. so far, $1500 for some really true software that can diagnose like the expensive tools you buy from snapon or mac or matco.
order the yungtek, and try the touchscan app. torque is really nothing to brag about. -
Thanks for the good info. I received the unit today and the plan is to hook it up and try it out on bus. Will post results here.
