I understand your situation. I left my previous career to take care of a ailing family member for three years. about three quarters of the companies turned me down for no work history. I explained my situation and finally got hired by May trucking. Keep at it there is a company out there.

Having friends and family write letters is not what is needed, many of those get thrown away because they are pretty much worthless.
It is a need to document the gaps and companies require a form to be filled out or letter from the applicant that has a notoriety stamp on it that is treated as an affidavit affirming the facts about the gaps. -
Here is my issue, and you and I have had disagreements on this several times. Some of these guys do not belong out here. They don't deserve a second chance. And then there's the other side, where companies like Carolina Cargo take full advantage of the situation by literally paying slave wages. The OP doesn't belong in any of those scenarios, but that's where I stand on it.

If you go with Pride Transport, they have a flatbed division you can switch to after 1 year. They pay $50.00 tarp pay. You mentioned in one post you prefer flatbed. Then again, after a year, you can probably go with about any flatbed company you want.
JBLittle Thanks this. -
Yep, good points. How's it going with Lessor's? Good company I've heard and read about. Isn't that a company where if you hustle, maybe make in the $60K's or close to it?
