Ha I think I did stop at the cat house on my bike.
Big Kev, i thought the same thing. What the heck?
Packrat, I am in a 62mph truck. I could take residential streets through a school zone all the way and it wouldn't slow me down.

I won't need to carry chains, will I?
    Thanks men

I don't think Nevada has carry laws, does it?

Nevada doesn't have carry laws, just Darwin awards if the laws of physics catch you.

colorado is the only state requiring chains in september. on the west side anyways. everyone else starts in october.

curious though if your gps is a rand. ROFL. mine says 95 - 40- 287
it's as long and boring as the rest of the nevada secondaries.

Its a garmin 560 dezl. I've only had it less than month and have no experience with other GPS. I look at it very suspiciously.

Is that still open? Is it still "Fran's Ranch?" The way everything else has shut down in Beatty, I'm surprised even the cat house is still open.

To the OP, that certainly is the route I would take. Nothing wrong with that highway, other than what others have said about boring.

Used to run it a few times a year. A lot of trucks run it. has a few hills but nothing too bad. There are a few fuel stops, some other places you can park and get something to eat and used the be some brothels with lots of truck parking. Have you GPS run some alternate routes and see what you get.

In recent years it's been called Angel's ladies. However they shut down about 3 weeks ago permanently.

    Big Don Thanks this.
