    schtman:
Kinda off topic but at 12 years I suspect you are OK. But you will not get a simple answer here. The only way is for you to call a few companies that you might likw to work for and ask them directly. Every company is different and even individual companies change their rules periodically.
    Good luck.

Thanks Igneouss. I live in West Texas and I plan on going to the Midland/Odessa area for a few years to hopefully get some experience. Everyone I talk to tells me I shouldn't worry but I'm investing a nice chunk of change into this CDL school so I am most definitely looking at making sure this license will get me paid

Don't admit to having a DUI....It is off of your record and is none of their business.

Its off of my MVR (depending on how long ago they look back) but it is not off of my criminal record. I don't understand how you say it isn't their business. If I will be working for their company in a safety sensitive job, wouldn't that constitute being their business. A DUI 12 years ago is a deal breaker for some companies but definitely not all companies as far as I've heard...especially in the patch...or am I totally wrong?

schatman, many companies will hire with a 12 year old dui as most only go back 10 years on background check............but..........then to get caught 3 times driving without a license might be the deal breaker.

You may be very right. With all due respect, I hope you're not. I have a plethora of charges that are all misdemeanors. Hoping that I can find the right outfit. Midland/Odessa is desperate for drivers as far as I've heard for the last 5 years and its not going to change anytime soon supposedly. Hoping I can get my foot in the door somewhere and prove my worth. I'm putting all my eggs in this basket and I'll beat down doors until somebody gives me a shot! I'm ready for the battle

Well I'm not looking OTR. I'm definitely going to Midland/Odessa. I only live 3.5 hours away so that's where my sights are set. Plus I have a brother in law there so I wont being going in blind. But if I do change my mind I'll look into those guys
