First question: Did you get on an instructor's truck? If not, you never entered the PSD phase, and are not liable for payment, regardless of how long you sat at the Campus Inn.

There should be a phone number on the bill. Call it, and tell them that you never got on a truck, assuming that's the case. Also call your recruiter. They should cancel the bill.

If you did get on the truck, however, then different rules apply. If memory serves, you can be on the truck for a week before incurring repayment obligations.

 

I left before i was assigned an instructor, so no I never go on a truck.

 

I left because I became discoured with that I was going to have to wait over two weeks for a trainer like many people had. There were students there from different classes that I had been waiting for over three weeks. I couldn't afford to be waiting around for that long so I left. I also kept getting turned down from trainers since they don't take female students. It's ok though I ended up getting my CDL through a private company from where I live. I just hope I get this prime thing squashed come Monday.

 

Ah, you got hit by the same thing that got me with Prime. I sat out on the pad, watching people screw up their backing tests, for two weeks before I had to leave due to financial reasons. I hadn't counted on orientation taking a month.

I'm surprised they haven't yet solved the problem with getting their female students trained.

My plan was to go elsewhere for six months, then come back as an experienced driver. That was nearly a year and a half ago. I still plan on driving for Prime; I just haven't come up with a "when" yet.

Which reminds me... tomorrow will be 2 years since I was accepted into the PSD program. What a ride it's been...

 

Wow, things have been this bad for awhile that says a lot about prime. Did you owe them any money?

Prime got slapped with a large sexual harassment suit some time ago. In response, they insisted on instructors and students being of the same sex. That, of course, created a huge backlog of female students. I was on that waiting list for 8 months. Last year, they relaxed that policy to allow male trainers to have female students. I was in the initial rush. When I was ready for an instructor, there were none available; they were all out with students. Rather than handing them off to female TnT trainers, though, many of them kept their students for TnT.

The main reason I was kept waiting is because I'm a nonsmoker, and most of the instructors smoke.

 

Yea I heard about that law suit that's why the made us females sign some type of waiver to be allowed to go with male trainers. But most male trainers can't have females because of their wives, so they say. Anyway the whole instructor dilemma needs to be solved. I just hope I can get this bill from prime voided because it's ridiculous to
have to owe them 3 grand for nothing.

 

Sounds like an administrative mistake... that sort of thing gets handled quickly once they realize the mistake.

 

I have a question about leasing a truck and repairs needed. Will the company finance the repairs if you don't have the funds for it? Or what happens?
