I was hired in swift transportation since april 31 2014 & drove solo for couple months. Even if i had roll over accident on my first week, i was working for them till 09/06/14. But things changed when somebody claim that i hit his trailer when i back up at truck stop parking. Actually i saw dent on his trailer, but no even scratch on mine. Because of this swift terminated me until they done investigation & make decision on it. But the thing is this process may take long time, so i'm looking for another job. If you have any idea share it to me pls? Thanx

You said you had a roll-over. Does that mean you turned a truck over. If so gonna be hard to get a driving job. Roll-overs are as bad or worse than getting caught drinking or taking drugs while driving. Might better try another line of work for a while.

I think Swift wasn't all the way done with the roll over, but even if they were a backing accident is almost always deemed preventable and most times a roll over is too so Swift just said "two preventables right off the bat as a solo (first six months) - cut our losses now". Not saying it's right or fair or anything like that. We each have our own side to every story. Just saying that is what SWIFT will most likely say to anyone that asks. "Two preventable accidents in the first six months. One backing, the other a roll over." Pretty much all they'll say about it and that looks pretty bad to most companies.

Tony is right, that's gonna be tough for a good bit so I'd take ANY job, even flipping burgers, as soon as I could get it; for income while I searched for a company that will take me on with what Swifty is gonna report to DAC/ Hire Right. That's just if it was me. Not telling you what to do. Just letting you know what I'd do in your shoes. When you do get back on with a driving job, learn from what happened, put it behind you, be safe and motor on. Again, that's just my take. Best of luck and be safe.

When I was at Swift I had a student for a few weeks who I kicked off the truck after he nearly ran someone off the road making a left turn. He got assigned to another trainers truck and eventually finished training. Afterwards he was assigned a truck and the same Driver manager I had. My DM told me about 2 months later hat they had fired the guy after having THREE accidents. All of them left turn accidents. The guy just didn't get the idea of staying right to turn left (yeah I know, Swing Wide It's a Friggin Trailer). Swift knows that they have a bunch of rookies and they tend to give second and sometimes third chances. If they fired you there was a reason whether you want to admit it here or not.

I would suggest you learn to say .....Would you like fries with that ?

If you do find anyone that will hire you I am not to sure you would really want to work for a company like that .

You could qualify for dispatcher training. You do have a general idea of how trucking works with your experience. You actually might turn out to be better than most. The majority of them have never stood within 20 feet of a semi.
