So driving along in the evening in Nebraska, I hit a cow... Not uncommon, but sucks. I don't know yet if the insurance company will want to total the truck.. Hoping they don't but I can't control that.
It is a T2000 and I will need a few radiators and a hood, front steer tire and alignment.. Who knows....
If they total it I will be buying it back and parting it out. Apu and tires will go on the next truck.. But I have a 2003 C15 6nz with a 13 SPD that has 40k miles. Motor had low end done 60k ago..
750k miles...
At 60mph I have not had a fill up less then 7 mpg all summer and my 1st quarter averaged 6.8 pulling a flatbed.
If I need to total it out... What is the engine worth and is there interest in purchasing the engine and tranny. My local trucking company would be interested, but I want to be fair to me because gliders are getting more common. I would expect to get another 250k before I would need to rebuild it...
Hoping it isn't totaled but planing for the worst. I will post again with an outcome and check for interest.
Totaled truck?

I'd be surprised if they total it but I guess that depends on the ins. Company. I run a 98 Pete and it's been 5 years since but I hit a steer and caused 20k plus to the front of mine and it never was a question if they would rebuild it or not. I had it towed to the body shop the next morning and they started on it right away and billed my ins.

Doubt that will total it out. Engine is 10k plus all day. Don't ask a penny less, people are beggin for the 6nz's. They will low ball you no doubt but don't accept what you are unhappy with.

Front clip $2,500 max radiator intercooler AC condenser $1,250 max steer tires $1,250 max three axle alignment $300 max body shop labor if front clip needs painted $2,000 max so $7,500 at most they'll fix it.
I just had my front clip and bumper done on my w9 $2,800 front clip was only $2,500 more I just fixed mine

The part I worry is the t2000 is not worth what a w9 is worth...
I don't think its going to be totaled... But I am going to prepare..
If its not, I am going to put an Ali arc on the front.. Don't want to hive up a 7mpg+ truck pulling a flatbed... For me its a dream come true... -
The cost to fix is the same your truck still should be a $25,k truck
